State Teams Information

Hockey Australia holds National Championships at Under 13, Under 15, Under 18, Under 21 and senior age levels. In addition, School Sport Australia holds National Championships at Under 12 and Under 16 age levels.

General information for players and parents

School Sport Australia Under 12 National Championships

These championships are conducted by the school organisations and not by Hockey SA or Hockey Australia. Any enquiries should be to your school or School Sport SA (although the BVHA Director of Develoment can also help).

To be eligible for selection students must attend a government or private school affiliated with SAPSASA (SA primary schools amateur sports association). All students who wish to be considered for selection must nominate online by the due date. State teams consist of players 12 years of age and under, year 6/7’s who will not be turning 13 in 2020. The application process must be completed by the parent and not the school. Full details regarding selection information and nomination available HERE.

Hockey Australia Under 13 Australian Championships (Boys and Girls)

Players wanting to trial for the Hockey SA U13 state teams MUST participate in the Under 13 state championships on the June long weekend.

Hockey Australia Under 15 Australian Championships (Boys and Girls)

Players wanting to trial for the Hockey SA U15 state teams MUST participate in the Under 15 zone championships on the June long weekend.

School Sport Australia Under 16 National Championships

These championships are conducted by the school organisations and not by Hockey SA or Hockey Australia. Any enquiries should be to your school or School Sport SA.

All students who wish to be considered for selection in the SSSSA Under 16 SA State Hockey Team must nominate online by the due date. If you wish to try out for this state team please read the information HERE.
